Farhana Akudi

I am a CELTA qualified English teacher with a BA in English & Linguistics, and an MA in English & English Language Teaching. I have eight years of teaching experience from helping university students with proofreading essays and holding conversational classes. I have been teaching at Leeds Language College for eight years to adults ranging from elementary to proficiency and have also specialised in teaching IELTS. I have also recently started working with 'Linguae Mundi' at Coventry university planning and delivering pronunciation workshops. I have successfully helped numerous students of different abilities; not only achieve the FCE and CAE certificate but also improve their IELTS score to a 6 or higher for university.

My lessons are tailored according to the learner's level and materials are also adapted accordingly. I like to introduce vocabulary to my students,reinforce their meaning in context and then allow students to use it in speaking practice alongside the grammar.

I have various useful exam techniques and can offer additional support materials for students to practise in their own time.
