I am an environmental scientist specializing in climate change impacts, glacier dynamics, and the environmental effects of mining activities. I hold a Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences from the National University of Sciences and Technology, where my research focused on the inventory of glacial lakes in the Hunza River Basin using satellite observations. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD at the University of Melbourne, focusing on modeling glacier systems and assessing the role of mining emissions on glacial environments.
My skills are
Remote Sensing & GIS Analysis: Proficient in ArcGIS, QGIS, ENVI, and Erdas Imagine for analyzing land cover, glacial dynamics, and environmental changes.
Climate Data Processing & Analysis: Expertise in interpreting climate data to assess shifts in environmental conditions, using tools like R programming and SPSS.
Glacier Modeling: Hands-on experience with the Open Global Glacier Model, focusing on glacier mass balance, lake dynamics, and GLOF susceptibility.
Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA): Experience drafting environmental assessments and conducting stakeholder consultations.
Science Communication: Skilled in presenting complex scientific concepts through reports, seminars, and community-based awareness programs.
My teaching methodology blends theory with interactive, real-world applications. I will:
Use Engaging Slides: My lectures will be structured with visually appealing slides featuring key concepts, real-world case studies, and concise explanations to maintain clarity.
Showcase Infographics: Complex data will be simplified using infographics that highlight trends in glacier retreat, climate change impacts, and land cover transformations.
Incorporate Videos: To enhance understanding, I’ll include short documentary clips, remote sensing demonstrations, and glacier modeling simulations.
Interactive Learning: I encourage active participation through group discussions, Q&A sessions, and hands-on exercises in GIS and data analysis.
This approach ensures students not only grasp theoretical concepts but also develop practical skills relevant to environmental sciences.
