Having taught students of diverse backgrounds and different levels, I have come to believe that harnessing one's talent comes from applying knowledge. Followed by a short introduction into the theory and demonstration of some examples, during lessons I tend to concentrate on practising solving questions in order for the students to understand the applications of the subject they are studying. In that way I make the lesson meaningful both for me and the students since this maintains their interest in the subject and makes me understand what their weaknesses and strengths are.
I generally do not give a lot of homework as I believe in educational systems that use this approach, however I may give a couple of questions just for discussion in the following lesson.
I am always open to suggestions from parents and or students regarding the structure of my lessons.
