Ezra Jackson

I have been teaching a variety of subjects since I was 15 and have a lot of experience making topics and materials fun and engaging. In our first lesson we would work together to identify your goals in the subject and a timeline for our lessons and I will then tailor subsequent lessons and materials to those goals.

I specialise in making materials and resources that are engaging and require use of knowledge and skills in multiple ways- both active and passive- to ensure that the content is covered from all angles and that you have a complete understanding of it. I often end sessions by asking you to explain the content we have covered back to me in order to catch any gaps that might have crept in and because I believe that teaching/explaining content to someone else means that you will gain a higher level of understanding in it.

I am a very patient teacher who is absolutely happy to go at your pace and I very much encourage you to stop me if I am getting ahead of your understanding and to ask questions about anything you are unclear on. I love seeing my students grow in understanding and especially confidence and like providing the kind of one on one, tailored experience that schools are often unable to bring due to a lack of time and resources.

I will often schedule a break into my sessions, particularly with younger students, as I find that moving around for a few minutes and talking about something unrelated to the topic really aids with focus and concentration in the long run.
