I am half-French (born and raised in the UK), but I have always felt more French than British. I have a real passion for the accessibility and acknowledgement of the French language, as I truly think it is a beautiful language. Having been raised with both languages, I understand the difference between the two of them, and thus know how to help people 'get around' the stark differences! I studied 'Le Silence de la Mer' at A-Level, as well as 'Intouchables', and as such have a real passion for the both of them - achieving 19/20 in my 'Intouchables' essay. The lessons I look to provide are student centred - I aim to provide feedback and help on the student's ideas, rather than dictating how they learn. Of course, there are things that will be necessary to learn, but otherwise, I aim to help the student at whichever pace they wish, in whatever particular topic they wish. For the A-Level IRP exam, I achieved full marks, as I chose a subject that I was extremely passionate in. This is the biggest advice I have for A-Level students, as being passionate about their IRP subject will help them achieve the highest marks possible, in the easiest way. Under exam regulations, I am unable to hear their presentation, but I am able to advise them in some ways on the way! For GCSE students, I fully remember the necessity to prepare the speaking exam paragraphs, and am able to help with this; I can provide grammatical structures that will impress the examiner, as well as impressive structures to get those high marks - as being French by descent, I am knowledgeable of native idiomatic structures and 'fillers' that will help you sound more French! With both A-Level and GCSE, I can provide native perspectives and anecdotes that will help the student understand the culture better.
I am a trans woman, and as such I am open to any and all students who wish to learn French - languages have no bounds, and the only thing important when learning languages is that people open their horizons!
