I tutored pupils from year 2 to year 12, on primary, GCSE, and A-Level curriculums. I began tutoring the child of a friend of my mothers and more students got in touch after seeing her improvements and overall confidence change. I tutored for over 2 years, around 7 different students and learned to communicate effectively, support the individuals, tailor lessons to their needs and work to improve their overall scores and happiness within the subject. I tutor online and adapt lesson plans to the level of study and the abilities and interests of each individual child. I keep in contact with the parent to let them know how the child is getting on. I work on microsoft teams, zoom, skype or whatsapp video call (depending on the preferred software of the client). All of the students that I have worked with saw an improvement in grades and confidence within the subject. I aim to support them so that they understand that mistakes are a vital part of learning, and growing from these is the most important part. I use resources from a variety of sites, proven to work and used by teachers and tutors across the country. As an undergraduate in university, I am closer to the age of the children, so I have been through the education system more recently and am more aware of what is effective and what is currently being used within classrooms. It also allows me to relate more to the children and converse easier so that they are more likely to tell me when they do not understand a concept or need extra help.
