Eva Lathwell

As a recent retiree, I was apprehensive at taking lessons. I need not have worried as Eva has had the extreme patience and skill necessary to develop my playing. She tailors the lessons according to progress made and the evidence of practice. Set challenges are always reasonable and attainable (when instructions are followed) and she only introduces new concepts that can be timely assimilated. Her explanations are always clear and well thought-out. She builds confidence at multiple levels and generates an atmosphere where you work with her. Eva has an extremely good musical ear. This ensures that accuracy can be identified when the piece requires it whilst rubato or ‘interpretation’ is not discouraged when appropriate. Eva is extremely punctual and is totally reliable. It is a pleasure to take instruction from her. Whatever your level or experience, whether you wish to sit examinations or simply play for pleasure, Eva will develop and improve your playing. I recommend her unreserved

Eva is a delightful teacher. I am a much older learner than Eva is probably used to but she has proven to be patient and has taken time to understand my learning style and ability and adapted a study plan to suit my needs. I always look forward to my lessons and I feel I am making good progress

Eva is a fantastic, patient tutor who has helped (and is continuing to help) my daughter learn keyboard. My daughter loves her lessons and always comes out positive and engaged. She recently passed her first grading with distinction. I'd highly recommend Eva!
