I am a qualified and registered Social Worker/Practice Teacher/Lecturer. I have worked as a frontline worker in all areas of Social Work such as children and families and adults. For over 15 years I have worked with Social work students as a practice educator/teacher and lectured in Universities, delivered training. I have worked with people from all diversities and backgrounds. I am a very kind and compassionate person, who is patient and works well with for example students with dyslexia, dyspraxia and I have a good understanding of neurodiversity issues in learning and the need to consider this in developing their learning plans.
I listen and hear what students say they would like from their learning plans and I use a supervision format the encourages reflective practice and a critical approach. I am also informed on issues and evidence based practice and can share experience and knowledge base from practice.
I use formats that encourage discussions, research, encourage reading and sharing of information on power point and handouts. I also encourage lesson plans and a willingness to reinforce continual professional development by using a continual professional approach (CPD training)
I am very keen to support, mentor, tutor students and professionals to develop in their studies or areas of their work in order to develop confidence / self esteem, I understand and work within an empathic framework to support peoples learning.
I am very interested in developing my own development to work with young people, students and people who wants to develop their continual professional development.
