I engage with every student to find their needs and the specific methods that work for them. I teach that everyone has different skills acquired through different paths and work with them through that to reach their goals.
I see a person, not only the student, and I see learning as a journey. We can explore different techniques while covering all aspects of the language: reading from relevant sources, listening and speaking to ensure they can take part in exchanges and conversation, and writing as a round up skill useful for personal and professional development. We can cover the grammar and basics of the language from the start with fun and didactic methods, we practice with interactive tools, made from scratch or using popular platforms.
The culture behind the language is as important as the structures so there will be discussions throughout the class to approach the cultural aspects by comparing or researching. Both English and Spanish are widely spoken and taught around the globe, so we take the time to point out different countries and where they are located.
In the debate portion of the class, we learn how to express opinions in a respectful manner and how to ask questions, and convey our ideas in a clear way. If we have group classes, we share experiences around the class, or in a 1-1 the teacher also offers information from personal experience related to culture, or language teaching to enrich the overall classroom experience.
Online lessons can be as successful as in-person ones, and a good relationship can be built with responsibility and respect.
