Ethan Shepherd

I am a student at the University of Exeter, studying Biological and Medicinal Chemistry. Having worked with over 10 students in a charitable Learning Trust tutoring up to GCSE standard in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and English (Language and Literature), I’ve had lots of opportunities to develop my teaching style. In this time, I tutored a GCSE student who was struggling initially with Foundation, Double Tier Biology and Chemistry concepts, however, by the end of my time working with her, she had been entered onto the Triple Award Science programme, showing a clear development of understanding landing her in the ranks of the 40 highest scoring students in her year. I also completed my A-Levels this summer achieving A*,A*,A*,A (in Biology, Maths, English Literature and Chemistry) and so I have plenty of tried and tested tips for exams regarding revision as well as exam technique which are both specifically applicable to recent exam trends. As well as my academics, I have a sincere passion for all subjects I tutor, using them all in my University studies: Biology and Chemistry form the focus of my programme requiring advanced Maths knowledge and a solid analytical technique and essay writing proficiency, both of which I garnered through my English studies. I hope to inspire passion in students through a teaching plan which is tailored not only to their needs, but also to their interests and goals. I offer discounted first sessions so that I can take extra time out of learning to get to know your child in order to amend my teaching style for them specifically.
