I usually conduct my tutoring through Zoom one on one with the student for 1 hour sessions. I incorporate practical examples and online resources with thorough explanations and encouragement. The first thing I do when I have a new student is ask them what they would like to learn. I specialize in a wide variety of subjects, so narrowing down what should be taught is essential for tailoring the learning experience to each individual student. After that, I generally start my tutoring with a student with interactive portions, as we go through either portions of the curriculum or practice questions found on online sites such as college board or khan academy and make sure that each topic or challenge is met with understanding before moving forward. As we progress in our time working together, I will slowly work away from offering answers to give time for the student to show what they have learned and what needs to be covered more thoroughly. Learning is the fundamental goal behind what we do, and every student learns at a different pace, so I will take as long as it needs for the student to grasp the material and help them in any way I can. I have been tutoring successfully in this manner for several years and have received a number of uplifting messages from former students who applied what they had learned in my tutoring to succeed in class, which just makes me all the more excited to work with others to achieve the same.
