I teach up to Grade 5 piano, as well as any more casual pieces you want to earn for personal enjoyment! My experience working as a BRIT Kids Music Production Assistant at The BRIT School and a Student Ambassador at Bath Spa University helped me develop my teamwork skills and brought me closer to people, understanding their viewpoints and recognising that there is never anything wrong with seeking extra support.

It is this philosophy that I apply to teaching, almost everything we do is in relation to each other, from work to play and anything in between, it is always important that people are not left behind when trying to pursue their goals. In the process of achieving a Grade 7 with Merit in Piano, Grade 6 in French Horn and 2.1 in Creative Music Technology, experience as a student firsthand taught me that the most important thing in a student-teacher relationship is focusing on what works, and how this can be expanded upon.

I realise it’s also important to carry out extensive research on chosen pieces, finding ways in which they can be improved and alternative angles to approach them from, which is one of my strongest areas. My main principles when researching include closely checking sources and not immediately using the most obvious information, and taking from a wide range of primary and secondary sources like the internet, books, TV shows, films, newspaper articles, interviews and university papers. I combined these skills to write my 3500 word essay on the history of Minimal Techno for my Sonic Art module, and my presentation on the history of politics in music in Sonic Cultures.
