I have completed Bachelors and a Masters degrees in English Literature, both with Honours, at Bangor University in North Wales, and I had loved the experience of studying there as an American student.
During both of my University courses, I also had the opportunity to study Welsh Literature, as well as to immerse myself in the Welsh Language (Cymraeg) over the course of my studies.
At the end of my Bachelors course at Bangor, I had submitted my undergraduate dissertation titled ‘Romance, Melancholy, and Welshness in Dylan Thomas’s Late Poetry and in Under Milk Wood’. In addition, at the end of my Masters course, I titled my postgraduate dissertation,
'The Four Branches of the Mabinogi: Impositions placed on Women in Wales in the Medieval and Modern Periods’.
I have been located back in my home country, America, since the end of my Masters course in 2022, though I am open to tutoring virtually to school-aged students in the UK. I am also considering returning to Britain in the next couple of years to pursue a PhD, again at Bangor University, with a joint supervision through the School of Welsh (Yr Ysgol Gymraeg) and the School of English. I have already applied, and been accepted to begin this PhD course at Bangor, though I have currently put my plans for further postgraduate study on hold.
Nonetheless, I am excited to bringing the knowledge from my studies of British Literature to enrich and nurture the young minds of children in the UK!
