For languages, I focus on improving your usable English skills or Spanish skills in everyday settings and conversation. I want my students to feel confident in their travels and conversing with native speakers. Learning Spanish as my second language, I know how hard it can be to get rid of nerves and speak comfortably in a second language. With me, there is not need to be nervous or afraid. I will help my students from whatever their starting point is to conversational in English or in Spanish. We can start with assessing where a student is at in their journey at the beginning, their goals, and what style of learning they work best with. After that, we can work on conversation exercises, building vocabulary sets, and practicing real-world scenarios. I am a gentle but constructive tutor who will help model good use of English or Spanish and train my students to adopt correct pronunciation and fluency. Learning a language is a fluid process; with this knowledge, I can help students use the words and skills they have to reach new heights!
If you're needing help in history, I know how hard it can be. I make history fun by helping students understand even seemingly tedious historic events in a modern, accessible style. History is all around us, and it doesn't have to feel dry! I will help my students balance the nuances of historical events and even place them into the greater context of world events. And for all of those pesky dates and names, we can find pneumonic devices and learning tricks to help commit those to memory.
