Erin Holley

As a First-Class graduate in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Newcastle University, I bring a strong foundation in genetics, molecular science, and cellular biology to my tutoring. With hands-on laboratory experience as a Laboratory Assistant, I have a deep understanding of both fundamental and advanced concepts in biology. My aim is to make biology accessible and engaging for students, helping them grasp topics from cell structure to complex biochemical pathways.

I have experience teaching biology to students of all ages, from primary school to degree level, adapting my approach to suit each learner's needs. In formal and informal teaching settings, including as an Assistant Instructor and Player-Coach for my university ice hockey team, I’ve developed strong skills in classroom management and clear communication. Additionally, my work as a Technological Assistant at Newcastle University’s School of Agriculture and Engineering allowed me to guide students through intricate lab techniques, ensuring they felt supported and confident.

My experience also includes tutoring English, which has honed my ability to tailor lessons to different learning styles. I strive to foster a supportive, engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring the subject. With a background that combines practical expertise and teaching versatility, I’m committed to helping students of all levels achieve their biology learning goals.
