Erica Bammerlin

As an educator with over 20 years of experience and several degrees in education, I am skilled at meeting the needs of different audiences, and I’d be thrilled to apply these skills as a tutor.

My baccalaureate and master’s degree coursework have all been directed toward meeting the varying needs of learners. I have significant experience with development of individualized education plans (IEP) and in teaching youngsters in a specialized school setting addressing emotional disabilities, autism, learning disabilities, and other disabilities. I've implemented a variety of teaching strategies responsive to Ohio and Connecticut’s content standards and Common Core throughout the United States. I have also implemented classroom-based action research on technology and small group centers, an endeavor which addressed students’ diverse learning needs and helped students learn from one another. These experiences gave me the opportunity to interpret curriculum standards with accountability and creativity.

My current and prior teaching and administration experiences have given me great depth of experience in collaborating with parents, co-teachers and administrators with the shared goal of making all students successful. In addition to my mandated duties, I have been responsible for administering State Testing, facilitating IEP meetings, overseeing 60 staff and 400 students to ensure there is compliance and liaising with parents.

Together, these experiences combined with many others exceed the requirements of tutoring.
