I have taught students in MyTutor for two years and my students are between the age of 5 and 16. I teach my lessons mainly using an online whiteboard through Google Meet or through a Zoom meeting. Before we start I will always make sure to go over certain topics that a student may find difficult so that I can conclude on what topic to start of with. My lessons tend to have a link between them in terms of what topics I go over. This means that I make sure that my topic I will go over in the next lesson will be related to what I went through in the previous lesson.
My lessons are fun but challenging where there is no pressure to make mistakes. My lessons are also an environment where a student can feel comfortable and also build up their confidence. I structure my lessons into three parts. The first will involve going over the foundations in a lot of detail and also going over how certain methods are derived. In the next part of the lesson, if a student feels comfortable then we will start to focus on exam questions related to the topic that we are looking at as these questions tend to be more applied to real life scenarios. This will help my student understand in a way that they they can remember. At the end of my lesson I always discuss with them how they find the lesson and what they learnt in order to gain a better understanding of the progress they have made and also the progress that they need to make.
