English Gains

No two lessons with me are the same! I tailor my lessons to suit your individual needs, so you can learn the skills that you need. We will work together, look at strong examples, practise answering exam-style questions, look over work you have completed in school, do quizzes ... the list is endless!

I have excellent knowledge of the English curriculum and GCSE English literature texts (such as Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, An Inspector Calls, Jekyll and Hyde, Woman in Black, A Christmas Carol). I have taught at A Level - English Language, English Literature, and the combined English Language and Literature - for different boards (AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR) so can help you make progress on those courses, too. I am also experienced at marking exam papers so can tutor you to achieve your potential and perform well on end-of-year exams, mock exams, as well as terminal exams for GCSE and A Level.

I will listen to you, respond to your needs, give you instant feedback and specific help. Students always say that I help them "to get it" ... I can explain things in a way that will help you to understand whatever you are struggling with from Y7 right up to Y13!
