I have experience as a teaching assistant with multiple ages ranging from 6-18 across all subjects. I have worked one on one and on group settings throughout my work and attempt to ensure each person in the group feels they have learned something and is able to speak up without worry of an incorrect answer.
I have experience working with SEN children.
I have a masters in forensic psychology and mental health and an undergraduate degree in applied psychology.
I also have a-levels in English language and BTEC science and GCSEs in English language and literature, history, maths, biology, chemistry and physics all at grade A/B.
I try to tailor my lessons towards the specific student to ensure they get the most out of each session and make them as interesting and interactive as possible.
I use a multitude of different materials for my sessions, including PowerPoints, case studies, interactive tasks, subject specific games and more.
Some sessions will require some reading either before or after each tutoring session in order to compound what has been discussed. This will usually be in the form of short case studies in subjects such as psychology or quick worksheets to ensure the material has stuck. This is so in future session if there have been any difficulties within these that the subject matter can be reviewed in a different way.
My aim for every session is for the student to gain a new appreciation for the subject matter and be excited to learn more.
