My experience has mostly been in Scottish primary schools, teaching between the ages of 6 and 12. I have been tutoring online in Scotland for the past year and have 3 years’ experience teaching online to EAL students in Thailand. I tutored children mainly in English and Maths but also helped to prepare them for exams and English competitions across the province. For the past decade, I have dedicated myself to my career in Education and am passionate about helping children to find their creativity, confidence and joy in learning.

Throughout my teaching career, I have had the privilege of working with children from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and religions. In 2019, I took on a new adventure by moving to Southern Thailand to teach English to Thai children in a local government school. This provided me with further skills in teaching children with English as an additional language. The varied nature of my experience has allowed me to develop as a skilled, nurturing, open and patient teacher and I have continued this in my tutoring role.

Throughout my teaching career, I have gained valuable experience working across First and Second level, implementing the Curriculum for Excellence. I have successfully taught a range of subjects to diverse classes, including children who have identifications of ASD, dyslexia and ADHD.

My tutoring approach is focused on providing an engaging and creative learning environment, while also implementing a child-led approach. I believe it is crucial to work closely with both the student and their family to identify any gaps in learning and understand the student's preferred learning style. By establishing a close relationship with the student, I aim to build their confidence and provide opportunities for achievement. To track their progress effectively, I will maintain detailed notes and provide regular feedback and reports.

With my extensive knowledge of the Scottish syllabus and the expectations at each level, I will be able to keep track of the student's current stage in their learning journey. I am adaptable and open, which allows me to tailor my tutoring style, ensuring it aligns with the student's preferred style of learning, as well as use my professional judgement on what is best for the student.

Overall, my approach to tutoring is focused on creating a supportive and personalised learning experience for each student, helping them reach their full potential.
