My lessons are entirely tailored to your specific needs and goals within the Oxbridge admissions framework. In our free first meeting, we’ll discuss your academic interests, the areas where you’d like support, and the timeline we have available for preparation. From there, I’ll create a personalised plan that covers each step of the admissions process accordingly: refining your personal statement to showcase your unique strengths, developing strategies for entrance tests, and preparing for the rigorous interview stage, including mock interviews. Each session will focus on building familiarity with the process and the skills and confidence you need. By breaking down each component of the length admissions period, I ensure that every lesson is structured, engaging, and directly aligned with your goals. I am also always available to contact for individual questions between sessions, so you never need to wait an entire week if you have a pressing issue!

I have significant experience in tutoring students for Oxbridge and general university admissions, including successfully navigating the Cambridge admissions process twice myself - once for entry to study Classics, and once to change subjects to Linguistics after my first year. Students I have tutored have been very successful and the vast majority have gone on to gain admission at their top choice university!

I have also done over four years of work in outreach and widening participation, and am aware of how large the disparities are between different students' backgrounds and the levels of access to support for university admission. I recommend lessons once a week as a starting point, but please indicate if you feel you need more support and we can of course meet more frequently. If you are/have been eligible for free school meals or the maximum student loan amount, please inquire as I will offer these second lessons a week at a reduced rate.

Our lessons together will be a collaborative effort. I understand how daunting the process of application is, and having someone with a lot of experience with it can make all the difference. The Oxbridge application process generally consists of 1) personal statement, 2) entrance test, if applicable, 3) interview. For humanities and social sciences I offer tutoring for all three stages, but please note that I am unable to offer tutoring for students seeking admission for STEM subjects beyond the personal statement stage, sorry!

I can offer tutoring either online or in your home with no extra cost for travel within zones 1-3. Please get in touch if you feel like I could help you - I look forward to meeting you and speaking further!

Emma is a great tutor! She is very kind and knowledgeable, she answers all my questions patiently and elaborate with extensive detail. She also prepares very useful handouts before each lesson. In general, I have benefited a lot from my lessons with Emma.
