I have been playing music for over 12 years, and it has always been my dream to teach.
I am in the process of graduating from my degree and becoming a full-time music teacher within secondary schools. I have worked with all ages from 2 to 18, creating extremely interactive and hands on music education. I tend to lean towards making activities and games as part of my teaching as it helps make the lesson more enjoyable for the pupil while ensuring that the knowledge stays within their long-term memory.

I have had placements within 3 different secondary schools, essentially acting as a full-time teacher with observations of lessons and preparing my own lessons according to the SQA guidelines and standards needed for each level of qualification offered, up to and including Advanced Higher music. I have experience with Music Technology as well. I have run workshops within nurseries, introducing young children aged 2 and up on the joy of music, and how to create their own music. I have taught piano privately in the past to a few pupils, but I had to stop when I moved to Aberdeen for university.

I teach Guitar, Ukulele, Piano/Keyboard skills, Bass Guitar, singing and Clarinet. I do this from my home in Glasgow, or these can be done online depending on pupils' ability to travel. Lesson price is based on an hour of tuition (£19 per hour), but I do also offer 30 and 45-minute lessons, depending on the age of the pupil and their concentration levels. If pupils find it harder to concentrate for long periods of time, I try to cater to their capabilities so that lessons do not get overwhelming or boring, and ensuring that they are able to take in all information presented.
