Hi!

I'm a recent graduate of King's College, tutoring in my spare time. I have a Bachelor's in Military History, and Master's in International Peace and Security. I have in-depth experience tutoring the IBDP (an HL History graduate myself) and MYP, as well as A-Levels and GCSE. I'm also ready to tutor Bachelor's students through their History modules, and help writing essays. I'm thoroughly international, having grown up in Vienna, lived in Singapore, studied in the UK, and now living between Paris and the UK.

My lessons are all about encouraging interests in history - whether particular periods, themes or people. Your needs drive the lessons, whether its brushing up on topics, writing essays, or preparing for exams. I have an excellent academic record and know how to work the system to your advantage; excellent marks in History are down to a formula, which I can teach you.

The lessons start with an overview of what you know, and then lead on to what I can teach you. This can take place in various formats most suitable to you and your needs. Whether a lecture with provided note taking guidance for younger students, a learning conversation and debate, or interactive wargames and crisis simulations to help you to really engage with the course of history itself! Depending on your learning style, the lessons will adapt as we get to know each other.

I'm happy to tutor groups of friends (those that work well together), or on an individual basis, preferably online.

Drop me an email if interested!

Emma’s sessions were really engaging, every lesson was full of energy and I learned at the perfect pace for me. Emma’s knowledge of essay and source technique was really impressive and made me feel a lot more confident going into my exam at the end. She introduced me to really high-level concepts and I used her essay-writing technique in my actual A Level exam (which got me 23 and 24 out of 25, so I’m really glad I used it!). I would really recommend Emma as a tutor who can get you not just a pass, but help you get that A* if you’re aiming for it.
