The best way to learn is not just memorisation but really understanding the concepts behind the course content. This will allow you to apply your knowledge to situations you may not have come across in the classroom and will make answering exam questions far less daunting. I therefore tailor my sessions around concepts you find particularly challenging which we can go through together, until you know them inside-out. I use evidence-based techniques to help with memory and active recall, and gamify learning to make it engaging and fun. We can also focus on exam questions or case-study based learning, depending on your learning style and your university teaching style. Each lesson is adapted to the way you learn, and notes, mind-maps and homework can be provided. I have experience teaching students with dyslexia and autism.
I know how scary preparing for and sitting medical exams can be. Over the years I have found that exam technique is a highly beneficial skill to practice in order to excel in exams. I hope to share my tips and experiences with you to help you answer questions to the best of your ability. We can go through any questions you aren't sure about together and learn how to best answer exam style questions.
I am not just a tutor but an academic coach, and while exam practice is really important, during my sessions you will gain skills and knowledge that you can carry with you throughout your academic career.

• Total experience to date: I have delivered at least 4000 hours of 1:1 tutorials to students since 2016. I have taught all Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) along with Psychology, English and Undergraduate Medicine and Medical School Applications.
• Schools Experience: I taught at an international school in Costa Rica in 2022, teaching English and Science. This involved teaching the entire syllabus, practical/experimental work, exam preparation and providing predicted grades. I also undertook several courses with the teachers around using neuroscientific principles to help students excel and minimise the time students must spend on work while maximising their grades. I taught to classes of greatly varying ability, including students with SEN, cerebral palsy, autism and first-generation immigrants with limited knowledge of both Spanish and English
• Current work: The majority of my students have been obtained through independent sources, along with working with tuition agencies based in London and internationally. I am well equipped for online tuition, I have a high-speed internet connection, and other hardware/software to make the experience equal to if not better than tuition in person. I currently annually deliver sessions at Southampton University for medical students and have implemented two new courses that have been integrated as part of the undergraduate medical curriculum. I also teach workshops nationally, helping teachers improve their teaching skills.
