My name is Emma, I hold a Diploma of Higher Education in English Literature and Ancient History from Cardiff University, and I plan on working to complete my Bachelor’s this fall. I have over six years of tutoring under my belt as well as experience as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school. I have a passion for education and my long-term goal is to get my teaching qualification and work as an English and History teacher in Wales. I pride myself on sparking interest and engagement with students before setting up goals and metrics for what it is they want to achieve academically. I work closely with the grading criteria to ensure every lesson plan is relevant to their assessments in order for the student to achieve the highest possible mark. My experience teaching ages 4-17 in a variety of subjects, including swimming, languages and mathematics has provided me with the versatility and adaptability that I think will make me a fantastic tutor for you or your child. In addition to this I also have experience working with learning difficulties, mainly ADHD, ASD and Dyslexia. My mine priority is tailoring each lesson to the needs and the goals of the student and I believe that a dynamic, hands on approach to retention and skill building is essential to achieving good results. I am flexible, friendly and an excellent communicator. The passion I have for Literature and History fuels every facet of my teaching approach and has a habit of rubbing off on students and creating the kind of engagement and motivation that yeilds not only academic but personal results.
