I am an experienced teacher, having taught children from the ages of 2 - 10 years over the past 8 years. I have a Master's with distinction in International Education and PGCE, both from The University of Sunderland. Over the years, I have specialised in supporting those with additional learning needs both within the classroom and with one-to-one lessons, to plug gaps in their learning and enable them to reach their educational goals. While teaching in International schools in China and Thailand, I worked with children who were learning English as an additional language as well as those with Dyslexia, ADHD, Dyspraxia, Autism and other types of neurodivergency. My approach to learning is multisensory as I aim to meet the needs of every learning style. I inspire intrinsic motivation through mentoring and coaching and instil a growth mindset in those that I teach so that they believe that their talents can be developed through hard work and dedication. My interests outside of teaching include mindfulness, yoga, exercise, crafts and cooking, I will try to incorporate these interests, as well as a sense of fun, into my teaching, where appropriate as I think it is important to work holistically and to develop the whole child so that they build confidence in themselves and their own abilities with the skills to thrive in their future educational endeavours. I am passionate about inclusivity and believe that every child, no matter what challenges they face, has the right and ability to reach their goals.
