Emily is a warm and enthusiastic teacher, dedicated to nurturing creativity in students and developing their love for music. She recognises the importance of establishing a positive learning environment and excels in building rapport with her students.

A recent graduate of Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Emily has had numerous experiences performing at a high level on the trombone, including with Birmingham Opera Company and CBSO Youth Orchestra. Emily performed as part of multiple chamber ensembles throughout her degree, in addition to freelancing with various orchestras around the Midlands and South West. She is classically trained, but has knowledge and experience playing a variety of different styles, including jazz and Early Music.

As a teacher, Emily has experience with private tutoring, as well as in school settings through the In Harmony Programme and Services for Education. She strongly believes that music lessons should provide more than just the learning of an instrument, and aims to offer a broader learning experience that also develops the student's confidence, imagination and self-expression. Emily loves working with students of all ages and abilities, and lessons are carefully tailored to the individual.
