I start each lesson with an activity based on what was learnt the previous lesson to ensure the knowledge is solidified. This will be followed by a verbal explanation of the topic chosen for that day along side diagrams, videos and stories including the knowledge. The main focus of my lessons is practice, science is about applied knowledge so the use of practice papers, past questions and invented questions combining different areas of knowledge is crucial to understanding. It is so important to find the parts of science you are the most passionate about to want to understand the rest of it. I personally always struggled retaining knowledge and finding anything I enjoyed about science but using fun colours and just going over things with other people to find my specific learning style has helped me immensely, I went from disliking science for most of my life to now doing a degree in biological sciences and I can only thank the tutor I had at GCSE for showing me how learning can be fun and tailored to me. I would love to pass on that passion for science and aid younger people in finding the joy in science.
