I'm a native English speaker and have lived in England my whole life. I am a recent graduate from the University of Brighton with a degree in English. I have mostly studied linguistics and language analysis so I can best help in those aspects of learning and acquisition of the language. I'm easy going and like to take a gentle approach to teaching and have had some experience teaching English to non-natives this summer for 3 weeks and really enjoyed practicing peoples fluency. I am also very well adjusted to syntax and other aspects of language that might be difficult as a second language learner. The format of my lessons will depend mostly around the student and what needs improving the most. Within teaching I like to use the direct approach when teaching but I'm open to other approaches depending on the way that the student learns. Within the lessons I would expect there to clearly set boundaries of respect between student and tutor and the same will follow from my end. Also any feedback for me in reflection of my lessons is very important as then I can adjust and improve my way of teaching if something isn't working for the student. I am happy to help research and learn things in order to help the student understand better as well and make my teaching better and have a healthy teacher and student dynamic.
