About me
I always get to know my students and their areas of strength and areas to improve. I then tailor lessons using my nearly 10 years of experience teaching and tutoring. I ensure lessons are engaging and conducted nearly totally in French to improve listening and speaking skills. On average, my students see 1-2 grades of improvement against their target grades.

At GCSE, I use a range of resources and materials depending on the exam board ( AQA, Edexcel) including practice exam questions, past papers and a host of engaging and authentic texts. I play a range of games and video clips to bring the language to life. Generally, I follow the GCSE themes to structure the course, spending more time on topics where students have most need. Each lesson will cover all four skills of reading, listening, speaking and writing and I ensure that students have a chance to write a practice 40/90/150 word essay for each topic at GCSE. I work with the student to develop their confidence across the syllabus, but also to give them the practical skills to use French for life!
I also have experience teaching A level and would be happy to work with students to identity and develop a personalised course. I have taught La Haine, Un Sac de Billes and L’étranger but would be willing to explore other texts and films as required.
Overall, I ensure lessons are tailored to the individual, practical and most importantly fun, to ensure a lifelong love of language learning.
