Hi, my name’s Emily and I’m a Master degree student studying in London!
I have experience teaching students ages 6 and above, particularly in preparation for GCSE/IGCSE exams in English and History. Having sat the exams myself I understand the process and grading system and have a strong idea of how to best approach learning these topics.
As a native French and English speaker, I am able to offer translation services and help students learn French. I have also worked with non-native English speakers helping them gain confidence and develop their speaking and writing skills. In September I’m starting work as a language teacher for non-native English speakers in Spain and will be receiving my TEFL certification!
My method of teaching is based on Conversation, Consideration and Creativity - Understanding your goals and the best way for you to achieve them while engaging in conversation to develop confidence. I believe there should be an element of freedom and creativity to learning, incorporating your passions and interests into the lesson.
A bit about me, I was born in England and moved to France and then later to Singapore. I came back to the UK after graduating high school with a French Baccalaureate OIB English (option International Baccalaureate) with highest honours before pursuing my undergraduate degree in International Relations at LSE. I’m currently studying a Master in International Affairs and Intelligence at KCL, and will be moving to Spain in September to work as an English teacher for Spanish students
