Hello! My name is Emily and I am studying English Literature at Bristol University. I have experience in teaching younger children, but will be focusing on helping secondary school/college students with GCSE and A Level English Literature. I am an optimistic individual with a passion for both teaching and learning. I hope to make each session a positive and informative experience for you. Each session I will make a lesson plan before hand and study the texts you are being examined on. We will examine the literary techniques, key themes, and your personal response to the text. These remote sessions will be 1:1, so it will mostly be discussion based. If you find a particular aspect of a text challenging, I will allocate more time in our sessions to help you understand it better. We will also be reviewing past paper questions, create essay plans and discuss how you would respond to each question. I can also help with set homework from your teacher along with preparation for your exams. I am happy to do extra sessions if need be! My main goal for my students is for them to regain confidence in English and help them to navigate their assessments with ease. Let me know in advance what day and time is best for you!
