Hello! I have been tutoring GCSE to University-level students in biology and chemistry with over two years of experience. Through this I have found the best-fit approaches for diverse needs and levels.

I aim to be focused and flexible with my students, adapting to their needs. At the first meeting, I introduce myself, understand what the student needs and making a plan for our time together. At each subsequent lesson, I generally start with a quick recap of the previous sessions. Then, we use this to build into the day's topic. I like to use visual and practical examples which I find very helpful for the sciences. I also leverage techniques I have honed during my studies such as intermittent memorisation, mnemonics and Feynman techniques to boost learning. I end the session with a quiz on what was covered, a study plan for the next session. I also like to do fortnight or monthly recaps after a few sessions have passed ('exams') to take the temperature on how the student is learning and where any difficulties might lie.

I can also provide mentoring on note-taking, reviewing tests, monthly quizzes to test learning and most importantly having student explain the concepts back to me to make sure they've grasped it.
