Ciao!
My name is Emanuela, I’m an Italian teacher currently living in a small town in the heart of central Italy.
In 2016, after obtaining a Masters Degree in Linguistics at Sapienza University of Rome, I moved to the UK . I lived in Southampton until July 2020.
I started working as a teacher in the UK right after my relocation. I started as a private tutor and then I completed a PGCE course with the University of Sussex and qualified as Secondary School Latin and Classics Teacher.
Throughout the entire duration of my University studies as well as after my graduation, I gained strong experience as a teacher in secondary schools and as a private tutor for secondary-school students (aged between 13 and 18) and adult learners. During these years I taught the following subjects: Italian (for native speakers and for foreign students), Latin (language and literature), Ancient History and Geography.
My goal as a teacher is to guide students in achieving excellent results in the subjects they are studying through a personalized learning path based on their needs and cognitive styles.
I strongly believe that good teachers should tailor their teaching techniques to students' personality, especially when it comes to private tuition.
During a language learning process it is important to let students feel comfortable to communicate their thoughts in the second language. It is important to accept any mistake they make and to consider errors as a fundamental part of a learning path.
I look forward to supporting you on your learning journey!
