I teach students at a basic level and build from there, first finding out what they already know and building upon that with my knowledge and understanding of what they would like to and need to learn. It is important that I cover theory, composition and practical, no matter what instrument chosen. I have experience teaching through my higher 3 years of school as well as teaching online drum lessons previously too. I teach to the standard of grade 5 as I sit at a grade 6/7 level and feel I have the best grasp of this to teach at that level. I have previously worked through challenges myself and feel I can relate on the level of the student but can thoroughly provide information and understanding to help. I have a SSA (Scottish Saltire Award) for volunteering as part of my tutoring younger students and have taught in sessions from 20 minutes to 2 hours. I have Music experience at school through National 5 to Advanced Higher and am currently studying an Honours course in Sound Design too. I also have outer experience as I am in a rock band as the singer and guitarist that has played in multiple places in northern Scotland, as well as a drummer in a slowcore indie band based in Edinburgh. I would be more than happy to take on any students of any age, who are working on achieving new musical goals within their lives and are looking for a little extra help.
