I would like to start our tutoring relationship with a session in which we can discuss how you learn best and what you are looking for from the tutoring sessions - this will be the main factor which informs how our lessons will be structured. I firmly believe that learning is never one-size-fits-all, so we will be in constant dialogue to ensure that you feel that the style of tutoring I can bring is working best for you.
If you are looking for ongoing support alongside your studies, you can bring forward any issues you have encountered and we can work through them and come up with long-term solutions so that you can understand the problem and how to deal with it in an exam situation. This is the format I have used in my previous experience, and my students have gone up two grades from when we began to their final results.
However, if you are looking to have a structured programme separate to your course, I am very happy to work and come up with one which we can follow before your final exams. As part of this, I strongly believe that exam technique is crucial to success and I would schedule separate sessions to be prepare as well as possible. For GCSEs, we would do guided practice papers and set some to do independently which I will mark and then go through together.
