I have experience working in an Outstanding school in Wigan as well as post-covid tutoring for underperforming students. I am also DBS checked through my previous experiences as a TA and trainee teacher as well as my position as an auxiliary nurse at WWL Trust

I am familiar with all GCSE texts (inclusive of novels and plays) for all examination boards as well as the general curriculum for England and Wales at KS3 level. Including novellas such as Animal Farm, Frankenstein and The Handmaids Tale.

My method for teaching is tailored to each individual child, hence, the first lesson will be spent getting to know the student and vice versa as well as identifying your child’s interests and how these can be applied to the comprehensive study of English.

After understanding the points for improvement for each student, I will research in my unpaid time ways in which to incorporate the students interests into a structured lesson plan which spans a pre-agreed length of time.

I will also implement a mid-point assessment which will test the student on their previously weaker areas to identify whether the teaching plan must be amended to either relax areas where the pupil has improved in or intensify those where they may still struggle.

I aim to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment where all forms of creativity and creative ideas are welcomed and tailored in order to fit the constraints of GCSE examinations. I believe that there is possibility for all students to develop a love for English, that the key to this lies in making their individual interests applicable to each area of the subject.
