I am a passionate and approachable STEM graduate with a strong academic background and hands-on experience in biology and biotechnology, with a first in both my Biological Sciences BSc (University of Exeter) and Biotechnology MSc (University of Bath).
During my recently completed Master’s degree in Biotechnology, I explored exciting areas like how medicines are designed and tested, as well as creating alternatives to animal testing using advanced lab techniques. My undergraduate studies in microbiology and infectious diseases gave me a solid foundation in understanding how microbes cause disease and how science can help solve real-world problems.
Beyond my studies, I’ve enjoyed teaching and mentoring in various settings. As a watersports instructor for several years, I coached groups of all ages, helping them learn new skills and grow their confidence. I also worked on science outreach projects, presenting research to students and the public in fun and accessible ways.
My lessons are ideal for:
School students curious about biology, biotechnology, and how science can tackle global challenges - specifically...
- GCSE and A-Level students looking for support in biology, chemistry, or related subjects.
- Young learners eager to explore topics like medicine, disease, or sustainable science through engaging and clear explanations.
- Students considering STEM academic careers who want to learn more about what a STEM degree looks like and guidance with preparing / applying for these opportunities.
My overall goal is to make science exciting and easy to understand, helping students build confidence and enthusiasm for the subject!
