As a native English speaker and a qualified teacher in the UK, I bring a deep understanding of the English language and a commitment to providing high-quality education. My qualifications include a Post-16 and Further Education PGCE (distinction/1st), which has equipped me with the necessary pedagogical tools to deliver effective instruction. I also studied a Spanish elective module for two years during university graded at a 1st, meaning I have basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in Spanish. This has also allowed me to develop a level of empathy for English as a Foreign Language students as I have also faced the difficulties of learning a foreign language.

I am currently in my fifth year of teaching, having taught iGCSE English and tutored English for the last two years. This has been alongside my most recent role is that of an SEN (Special Educational Needs) teacher, in an international school rated ‘Outstanding’. I taught KS3 and KS4 English up to GCSE level as well as ensuring students mastered the key skills of reading, writing and speaking. This experience has allowed me to develop a comprehensive understanding of the English curriculum and effective teaching strategies to help students excel academically.

My role in an international setting has also provided me with the opportunity to work with a significant influx of EFL/EAL students, which led to invaluable experience in catering to the unique needs of these learners. My ability to adapt my teaching methods and create an inclusive learning environment has consistently led to positive outcomes for my students, enabling them to overcome language barriers and succeed academically. This experience reinforced my passion for teaching English as a foreign language and solidified my ability to facilitate language acquisition effectively.
