My expertise extends across mathematics and the realm of science.

I first like to ensure I am aware of the curriculum and requirements. From there I like to understand the child's capability as well as their confidence in the areas we are working on.

My teaching style is explanatory with embedded check-ins with the child to ensure they are following. I then largely practise a hands-on approach allowing the child to have a go at answering before providing feedback. The lessons follow this style and addition to providing my own material I was ensure that it matches the level of work the child is being handed in class.
A large part of my lesson involves building confidence in the child and remaining positive about their progress. I like to demonstrate that they are developing and understanding the content I teach.

My experience is with both primary & secondary students (year 2-sixth form). I am very understanding that every child learns differently and at different paces. I am also very aware of learning attention spans, concentration and motivation differs between learners.
