In my English tutoring lessons, I focus on creating a structured yet flexible learning environment tailored to each student's needs. Here's how the sessions are typically organised:
1) Warm-up : We start with a brief conversation or language activity to get comfortable and set the tone for the lesson. This could involve discussing a topic of interest, reviewing previous material, or practicing casual conversation.
2) Core Lesson : The main portion of the lesson is dedicated to a specific language skill. Depending on your needs, we focus on speaking, listening, reading, writing, or grammar. I use a mix of real-world materials like articles, videos, and dialogues to make learning engaging and practical. We also cover vocabulary and pronunciation.
3) Practice & Feedback: After introducing new concepts, we spend time practicing through exercises, role-playing, or discussions. I provide immediate feedback and corrections, focusing on building fluency and confidence.
4) Wrap-up & Homework: We end by summarising the day's lesson and highlighting key takeaways. I assign light homework, such as reading or short writing tasks, to reinforce learning between sessions.
