Elizabeth Gallagher

I've been teaching full time for 25 years as a French and German teacher to Key Stage 4 and have also taught Italian and Russian as an extra-curricular opportunity.

I am currently working on improving my level of Spanish with the view to sitting GCSE Spanish next summer. I am also learning Portuguese in my spare time. I am a very experienced and passionate teacher. I have a calm, nurturing approach, with the aim to gain student trust.

I have taught the whole ability range of pupils between 11 -16 over my 25 years as a teacher.
During this time, I have developed and perfected my ability to differentiate lesson content to suit pupils with differing needs and abilities. I believe it essential to plan thoroughly with each individual pupil in mind, in order to ensure the best possible outcomes.

I have experience as a one to one tutor, and have recently tutored my niece through her A levels. My priority as a tutor is to assess a student's needs first and foremost; from here, I can tailor individual sessions based on these needs, ability and requirements. I am very flexible in my approach and have a friendly and engaging manner.
