My tutoring sessions are adapted to each individual student's needs and desires, in terms of learning outcomes. They include focus on a broad range of aspects of language learning, including vocabulary, grammar, conversation and discussion skills, and listening and reading skills. I believe in teaching languages in a way that fits and is applicable to everyday life, so the topics and themes I cover are relevant and useful when trying to go out in to the world and speak a new language.I aim to make the lessons fun and engaging, and I hope to be able to boost student's confidence in their ability to speak and express themselves in new and unfamiliar languages. I have tutored two young students before, one of primary school age and one just entering secondary school, and thus the style and content of my tutoring sessions looked very different for each student, reflecting their very differing needs. However, in both examples I tried to incorporate fun and interesting language learning activities to boost engagement, and remind students that language learning and and should be fun. Generally speaking, my tutoring sessions tend to last anywhere between 30 minutes to 1 hour, but this too can be adapted based on student's individual needs or desires.
