BA (Hons) - Educational sciences
CELTA ( Certificate in Teaching English to Speakersof Othef Languages)
I have been teaching both Italian and English for 14 years, delivering lessons online and in-person to classes, small groups, tutorial sessions, and private individuals, using a communicative approach customised to meet each student's unique learning needs.
My teaching philosophy is based on the belief that learning happens when students actively engage in the language process, and that class time should be used to maximise communicative opportunities.
The rapid pace of innovation and the changing structures of communities and workplaces make traditional methods of education and training increasingly inadequate. I believe that knowledge derived solely from the study of disciplines is no longer enough.
In today’s world, learning to learn, identifying what interests us, and negotiating our learning processes have become essential skills.
I believe the key to successful language learning is building on students' enthusiasm by giving them the resources and support they need to develop their language skills and confidence. Language learning, for me, is not just about lexical and grammatical comprehension—languages are a manifestation of the cultures they represent, and this is particularly true for Italian, where culture is an integral part of the language.
Having taught for 14 years, I’ve learned the importance of adaptability, understanding the unique learning needs of each student, and the value of being approachable, empathetic, and flexible as a tutor.
