Hello! I'm Elisabeth, a Bioscience student at the University of York, very enthusiastic about my subject. I can teach GCSE Biology, Chemistry, French or German, and A level French and Biology. My passion is life science and nature, and have a background as a nature summer camp monitor in Belgium passing on my enthusiasm for biodiversity to children aged 5 to 17.
I grew up in belgium so am fluent in French, languages are so important in this day and age, as being able to speak more than one opens up many oportunities. They allow us to diversify our human connections.
I believe in a varied approach to teaching, extra support lessons are useful to provide tailored teaching that you can't get in a classroom, and are interactive, dynamic and engaging even if online. Things like summary multiple choice quizzes I have seen students find useful to spot gaps in their knowledge, problem solving based exercises are very good for exam preparation, as these try to move away from factual recall. Case study analysis and problem solving develop key skills not only for further education but are applicable in most sectors of your life.
The contents of any lesson with me will be targeting the areas that you have difficulty with, so let me know before a lesson what you want to cover/what confuses you/what topics you don't understand and will focus on those till they are clear as crystal!
I hope to be able to kindle a love for bioscience and languages in my students by clearing the fog!
