I like to gain general understanding of the student current confidence/knowledge so I can focus on areas the student is unconfident in . From their we work to ensure at least a semi confident level in all areas needed for their age group. This provides a platform from which they are able to understand independently. Teaches varied method with they can apply to new content so they can begin to improve independently as well. This includes how to break down word problems for easier understanding and word associations to remember methods.

For GCSE student there is a lot of focus on going through past papers and teaching the theory and working for the questions they can’t do. This help them work the questions out in a way they can maximize their marks even when facing uncertainty so that they can achieve the grades they desire.

Like to build a close trusting relationship with the student so that I can understand their way of processing. Putting the information they need into words they relate to better helps in their memorization and basic understanding. I also find from my own experiences that by having an enjoyable and comfortable relationship with a tutor you are more encouraged to take in the material and develop upon it. I hope to be a source of motivation for my students and for them to be able to take what I teach them and apply it into future learning or at least into accomplishing in exams the grades they know they can get.
