I have experience teaching all ages; children, teenagers, and adults, giving one-to-one as well as group lessons. I have used coursebooks (Cambridge One, Oxford University Press) to plan my lessons, as well as adapting materials from books to create my own lessons. I’ve given specialised classes including tailored conversation classes, ESL classes, and business English, bringing my perspective of a native speaker and introducing my students to British culture.
On my conversation classes, I can help improve your confidence, accent, and intonation while discussing topics you’re passionate about. These topics have included things like poetry analysis, sharing cultural recipes, and how to argue politely about politics, but I’ll let you choose what you’d like to discuss in my lessons! As of now, I’ve taught students from 13 different countries. I love teaching online as it gives me the opportunity to work with people from around the world, and learn about other cultures, as well as share mine.
I have experience teaching very beginner students, with absolutely no knowledge of English - I volunteered teaching refugees and asylum seekers in the UK last year. I tailored my lessons according to their needs, creating my own materials from scratch to ensure a mix of real world culture immersion and language essentials. At the schools I’ve worked at, my classes have ranged from elementary, to intermediate, all the way to advanced.
