My name is Eleonora Ranuzzi (she/her).
My passion for teaching, and the fact that I am Italian, has motivated me to become an Italian tutor. Moreover, after living 2 years in the UK and all my academic and professional journey being in English, I can say I reached an excellent level of English that allows me to be confident in every situation.
My interest in tutoring and helping students improve their interest for various subjects began early in my teenage years, when I volunteered to be a tutor for a foreign student in the local middle school of my town. The student I took care of had learning disabilities and was neurodivergent which, in addition to all the implications that being an immigrant has, hampered her school performance and wellbeing in class, having an impact on her social relationships too.
Since a young age I have always looked for ways to help people with learning difficulties and/or suffering from social stigma. For example, being part of a non-profit organization dealing with people with disabilities or volunteering as a teacher in disadvantaged areas.
During a year abroad as an exchange student in Chester in 2017, I worked as an Italian teacher in my free time. Later, I worked for a year as a primary school teacher of English, Art, Science and technology, which allowed me to improve my relational and educational skills, integrating aspects of developmental psychology in my teaching too. My educational skills and competence have been finished by a teaching course I took in Edinburgh in 2019, where Italian and Scottish educational methodologies were compared and evaluated.
Having studied Psychology for around 10 years, I believe I am able to help students in their wellbeing with a holistic and integrated approach that doesn’t focus merely on performance, but on pleasure and learning, guiding each individual towards their interests and potentialities. In fact, through my academic studies and life experience I had the opportunity to learn the importance of an education that strives to offer equal opportunities and representation across all groups and people.
I believe that my working, academical, and personal experiences gave me the tools to be a competent Italian tutor, counsellor and life coach.
