I am an experienced Art & Design educator offering personalized art lessons tailored to beginner - intermediate levels.
I am a secondary school teacher and have experience teaching at University level. I have gained expertise in various artistic disciplines, including drawing, painting, textiles, and photography. I provide engaging and inspiring sessions designed to boost creativity and confidence. My approach is student-centred, adapting lessons to individual needs while fostering a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
Upon qualifying with a BA in Fashion Textiles I worked for 2 years as an Academic Assistant at my University. It was here that I grew a passion for education and sharing my knowledge. With my background skills in the education and creative industry, I am able to guide your project in the right direction and help you research and build a coherent story with your work. With this, we can build a meaningful and powerful portfolio for your future further education applications.
I aim to provide warmth, honest feedback, and an invitation to fully embrace the benefits of the creative process. I can guide students in a wide spectrum of mediums and styles, including drawing, printing and painting in acrylics and watercolours.
I am also able to offer skills in machine sewing, hand embroidery and fabric manipulation.
Alongside technical goals, I consider teaching similar to a mentorship, helping students to develop their own visual language and move through the hurdles that appear in the creative process, giving one confidence and inspiration.
Lessons with me are perfect for students looking to enhance their artistic skills in GCSE/A-Level or prepare portfolios for further education.
