Eleanor (Ellie) Mountain-Stringer (Stringer)

I have been teaching for 11 years and during this time, I have taught every year group from Nursery to KS4. I have had experience teaching students at different levels, including those working towards age-related expectations, working at and working at greater depth. I have also taught and supported pupils with SEN who have a range of different needs. In addition to this, I have devised KS2, KS3 and KS4 bespoke programmes of study to suit the unique needs of the pupils at the provison I am currently working at.

I have high expectations of behaviour and enjoy a warm professional relationships with my students, that involves a mutual respect.

My lessons follow a straightforward structure.
They are clear, focused and interactive.
Where possible, I try and follow a pattern of both guided work, to explain relevant concepts, followed with independent work, where I expect students to demonstrate the knowledge and skills independently, once confident.

I will always endeavour to teach in a way that suits my students, tailoring lessons to suit their specific needs, for example, scaffolding for those students who need additonal support, and providing independent extension tasks for those pupils who are excelling.

I give students the opportunities to discuss concepts wherever possible and feel this is important to talk through any misconceptions that may occur.

Assessment also follows a clear format, using grids and tick-sheets as appropriate. This is to ensure that we are clear about what has been achieved and what we may need to revisit in the future, or see what we need to prioritise.

I am confident that through clear communication and determination, we can achieve any target we set ourselves.

I am currently only available Monday daytime, but this is due to change in the next month or so due to my partners work schedule and lots more availability will open up.
